April is School Library Media Month, with the 13th to the 19th being National Library Week. It is also Poetry Month.  Look for all types of poetry books on our white display shelves

In late January, Burr Students and staff kicked off a very special Pig Out on Reading program.  We are putting as many pigs as possible in our “barnyard” on the library windows. To date, we have  passed the number of books read by Burr students last year during our Read Across America campaign.

When you visit the school, you can’t miss the pigs in the library “barnyard and the silo that keeps growing and growing. Each pig stands for 5 books read to or by Burr students and staff, and each “board in the silo is the equivalent of 100 books read.

In March, the display cases featured Nathan DeRita’s baseball cards, especially the Yankees and  Danielle Russo’s Littlest Pet Shop critters.
