Grades will be obtained through four distinct forms of assessment. Each will play a role in the final calculations according to the chart below
Video portfolios will be graded. Students will be rewarded for keeping accurate notes and records during the production process. Projects will be graded according to performance-based assessment scorecards. Record keeping is a very important part of job performance in the broadcasting industry.
Students will receive credit for demonstrating their ability to operate the equipment per training and written instructions handed out in class.
Includes all group projects, in class and field productions. Assessment will be accomplished through awarding points each week, based on teachers perception of the amount contribution to class discussion, independent work on class assignments, general work ethic, and team building activities with fellow classmates.
As most work is done in
class, attendance is extremely important, just as in the real world work
environment. Missed work must be made up in order to receive any credit.
Deduction will be made for late work.
Throughout the semester,
students will receive progress reports that incorporate the assessment forms.
