Activities



The students will engage in
the following activities to gain the skills needed to promote life-
long fitness. I also stress
co-operative learning and use differentiated instruction in all classes.
A fitness component is
worked into every class so that the student has both the opportunity
and the knowledge to live a
healthier lifestyle.

Physical Fitness Testing
( 9th and 10th graders)

All freshmen and sophomores
in physical education class perform the Ct. Physical Fitness Test.
The test is not a factor
when determining the student’s grade.
The test components and
what they measure are as follows:
Push – up Test (Upper body
strength)
Curl – Up Test (Core
strength)
One mile walk/run (Aerobic
fitness)
Sit and Reach (Flexibility)
Shuttle Run (Agility)
