The main characters in The Contest, which is the first book of the Everest series are Dominic and Christian (Chris) Alexis. Christian and Dominic are brothers, Christian is the oldest.

Dominic Alexis is trying to win a spot on a boot camp team where only 5 lucky winners will learn how to climb Mount Everest. Chris already won a spot. To make the team you’ll have to buy Summit Everest energy bars with letters on the rappers or energy drinks with letters on the bottle tops. If you get all seven letters of “EVEREST” you can pack for training! At the end of camp the top 4 climbers would get to be the youngest team ever to attempt the world’s largest peak!; Mount Everest.

Camp was intense; training and competition included brutal 6 hour hikes and workouts.

I thought this book was very interesting. I couldn’t put the book down after I started reading it! I think you will enjoy it just as much as I did. I would recommend this book for anyone ages, 9 through 12. Enjoy!
