Finding Sophie

Sophie Mandel is German but came to London! At this time Sophie was at the age of seven. Sophie had to board the train to London. She is now growing up with a friend of her parents whom she has left because of the war. Sophie calls her aunt Em (or aunt Margaret.) On the train Sophie has to take care of a young child named Marianne. After Sophie got off the train to London, little Marianne had said a sweet short good-bye.

Sophie is now 15 years old. She is growing up to be a fine young lady. At the end of the book Sophie has to decide where she will choose who she will live with. Either has to live with her parents (who she barely knows) or her “aunt”! She is making this decision because the war is almost over! Who will she choose? Find out who she will choose in this book.

The book Finding Sophie is one of the best books I ever read. I think this is rated for Middle school kids. I liked the book because I never knew what was going to happen next! It was so good that I couldn’t put it down. I always want to read more and more. See for yourself! READ! AND HAVE FUN!
