The Field Guide is the first book out of five from the Spiderwich series. Jared, Simon, and Mallory Grace are not a very normal family. Their parents are divorced, and the family has to move to a Victorian house in an unfamiliar neighborhood. Before the Grace family moves, Jared gets expelled for the rest of the year at his old school, and is having a hard time getting along with people. Mallory loves to fence. She is always beating Simon in fencing matches. Simon loves animals, so he has tons of pets. He has mice, crickets, tadpoles, frogs, and fish. When Jared walked into their new home, with Simon and Mallory behind him, he heard a rustling in the wall. To find out what it is, or what happens next, read this outstanding book!!

This was an outstanding book for me to read. I recommend it for grades 5 and up. There are 5 books in this fantastic fantasy series. I hope you get the chance to read them all!!!!!!!!
