The City Of Ember is about a city that for some reason has no light, except for the street lights and the lights in the house. And nobody knows what is beyond the city. 250 years ago some builders built the city and hid a secret in a box within it that would open up automatically in 250 years! But, a greedy mayor of the city takes the secret box and tries to open it. It was so hard to open that he gives it a rest, but dies in that night while sleeping.

I could not put this book down it was so good. And I recommend this book to ages 7-14. It was so good that I read it 2 times in a row!!!!!
