The public
is more than welcome to attend any of the budget workshops and any
of the Budget Committee meetings. Certainly our Budget
Committee is eager to communicate effectively with the town
officials in both Haddam and Killingworth. As a Budget Committee
responsible for articulating the educational needs of the school
district in a fiscally responsible manner, we have the difficult
task of striking a balance between our educational needs and our
fiscal responsibilities.
Our committee will be monitoring activity and actions at the
legislative level most carefully, and wherever possible will be
providing input in order to protect both the educational and
financial interests of the district and our
towns.

Haddam Killingworth Boys
Middle School Swim Team # 1 in
State
For the first time in
state history, the Brookfield Boys' Swim Team lost a
championship. Your HKMS
Boys' Swim Team knocked off the previously undefeated Brookfield
swimmers. Up against a huge challenge, the HK boy swimmers prevailed
against teams comprised of as many as forty swimmers to receive
their championship trophy.
Members of the team include Ryan Weis, Tristan Stritzel, Jake
Gibbons, Mason Revis, Stuart Stritzel, Garrett Mazziotti, Hunter
Campbell, Conor Champagne and Gunnar Soneson
On January
31st, the HKMS swim teams competed at the state
championship meet. The
boys competition was started off by an amazing fourth place finish
by diver Gunnar Soneson.
The boys 200 Yard Medley Relay followed with a first place
finish with a time of 1:59.92 by teammates Jake Gibbons, Stuart
Stritzel, Mason Revis, and Garrett Mazziotti.
Congratulations.
