The public is more than welcome to attend any of the budget workshops and any of the Budget Committee meetings.  Certainly our Budget Committee is eager to communicate effectively with the town officials in both Haddam and Killingworth.  As a Budget Committee responsible for articulating the educational needs of the school district in a fiscally responsible manner, we have the difficult task of striking a balance between our educational needs and our fiscal responsibilities.  Our committee will be monitoring activity and actions at the legislative level most carefully, and wherever possible will be providing input in order to protect both the educational and financial interests of the district and our towns.

Lead by Captains John Abbott and Kyle McCormick, the HKMS Boys' Basketball team finished its season with an undefeated 14-0 record. Ethan Kovach was awarded the team's Cougar Award for his outstanding hustle and determination. The team averaged 33 rebounds per game for a total of 471. The Cougars let up an average of 32 points per game to total 457 points scored against them on the season. This is a remarkable accomplishment having rebounded the ball more times than the opponents scored points. HK themselves averaged 51 points each game. The team also had 5 players with over 50 points on the season. This really was a group effort and such a rewarding experience for all that were involved.
