Good Afternoon:

 

I hope that the fist day of the 2009-2010 school year went smoothly for you and your child.
 
Due to a delay of approximately 25 minutes loading the dismissal buses at HKHS, it is anticipated that the HKMS and elementary afternoon buses will be as much as 20 to 30 minutes delayed today. 

 

We met with the HKHS administration and individuals from the district's transportation department already to identify the cause of today's delays and have adjusted accordingly.
 
I apologize for what I will describe as an unacceptable delay and will ensure that the adjustments work to allow us to return children home within what we have set as an acceptable timeframe. 

 

Thank you for your patience as our schools and transportation department make the necessary changes.
