H1N1 Update

I am very pleased to inform you that student absence rates due to illness have dropped dramatically this week.  Most schools are reporting rates of approximately 4% - 6% as of today.

I thank you for your continued cooperation with the practice of keeping your child home if he/she is sick and by encouraging good health practices such as hand washing and sneezing/coughing into one's elbow if the need arises.  I firmly believe that if we continue to be vigilant with regard to our prevention strategies, each will have a positive impact on both student and staff absence rates.

Thank you also for your patience as we work to keep you informed of the impact the H1N1 virus may have in our schools.

The school district's web site at www.rsd17.org continues to be a primary site where you may obtain the most current information about the flu.  Additional sites include those listed below.
