Important Health Service Request for all Regional
School District #17 Families
Dear
Parents,
The Chatham Health
District will hold a flu vaccine clinic in October for all students and families
in our school district.
This vaccine will protect for both the seasonal and H1N1
flu. The clinic will be
held after hours at one of our district schools. The health district
will accept all insurance plans and no co-pay will be required. If you do not have
insurance, there will be a fee of $5.00. If you are interested in
attending one of these seasonal flu vaccine clinics please fill out
the attached form and send it back to your child's school nurse
prior to June 25, 2010.
Or you can go directly to the website at www.chathamhealth.org to
complete the form.
Your response is extremely
important in order to secure the appropriate amount of vaccine
needed for the flu clinic.
Please remember to include all family members who will be
receiving the vaccine.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not
hesitate to contact me at 860-345-4584.

The
following piece was submitted by Deb Umba, Promotions & Events
Chair, Higganum Village Market.
You are all cordially
invited to come on down to the Higganum Green on any Friday of the
summer months!---we're here until October 29th! Thank you for the
warm support of Superintendant Mala and acknowledgement by Haddam's
First Selectman, and many of HK's staff members and
principals, while I continue working on the Farmers' Market
during the year!
As we go through the
summer months---we'll keep bringing the "best of the local best"--to
Haddam and surrounding areas---superior farm fresh food, some fun
ways to send your grad off to college (big pottery mugs filled with
mini packets of coffee, seasonings, a recycled wool - pair of dorm
slippers?), plus---a great spot to catch up with neighbors and
friends on a summer afternoon! What better place to unwind from the
weekly grind? Where you can grab some freshly brewed "Farmers'
Market Blend of coffee," perhaps a delectable freshly made pastry or
scrumptious Italian Ice! to enjoy on our own little oasis of green
on the beautiful Higganum Green, and also---some of our local best
entertainment!--some HK-Students have played on the Green and will
be playing during the summer!
Additionally, later
in the fall, we're attempting to bring a terrific evening of
conscious-ness raising --and hopeful! View points about where our
food originates, who grows it and why it is so important to support
local sustainability for a smaller, local economy! This will be
presented in a forum on farming diversity in CT, along with
entertainment and lively commentary by Hartford Courant writer for
29 years, Connecticut's own - Steve Grant. This larger fund raiser
is to benefit our community, so that we may "give back,"
too!
Enjoy the rest of
your week and thank you always for your support.
