HES Announcements
Dear HES
Families,
Welcome to the "Un-vacation Week"! Today we
started off with a few jokes being read by students over our public
address system. We also had our first student
trivia winner of the week who was able to tell us the name of the two
presidents who appear on both coin and paper currency. (Do you
know the answer?) We hope that the students enjoy this week and
thank everyone for making the best of an unusual situation. We
appreciate all of those who notified us of their vacation. It
really helped us to plan.

Un-Vacation Week Stats
|
80% of our students
were in attendance today
12% of HES staff will
be out this week due to vacation plans that could not be changed
100% of absent staff
with classroom or "special area"
responsibility are covered with a substitute teacher, with
classroom having the same substitute teacher for the week. Our
absent support teachers made sure to collaborate with classroom
teachers ahead of time to provide continued support for our
students throughout this week.
100%--The student and
staff attendance we hope to have on Monday, February 28th.
Have a great week everyone!

Bucket Fillers--Writing from
the Heart
|
Hopefully you
read in the February newsletter that we would like to take some time
to think about how we can apply the concept of bucket-filling
in the lives of our families, friends and neighbors. If
you and your child have a "heart-warming" bucket filler
story, think about writing it down so that we can share it with
others. We would like to create a bulletin board display and
choose a few to read during the month of March. Please have your stories in
no later than March 3rd.

the HKMS Student Commons @ 6:30pm and on Monday, April 4th at the
Central Office Board Room @ 6:30pm. The referendum will be held

Update on Facilities Matters
|
1) The
Facilities Department has communicated that the School Sign will be
installed as soon as possible in the spring. We are eager to
get this going and thank everyone for their patience.
2) Primary
Playground--I am in communication with our Facilities
Director about the gigantic snow mound on the primary
playground. We are trying to work on making the
playground useable by the spring. If you have any ideas to
help us achieve this, please do not hesitate to contact me
at jharris@rsd17.org.
