Re: Graduation

Congratulations to the graduating Class of 2009. I know what an exciting time this is for you and I'm sure you and your families have been planning for this day for quiet a while.

I, like most of you have been watching the weather forecast for Friday. As of right now, (Wednesday, June 17, 3:05 P.M.), there is no guarantee as to the kind of weather we can expect. The latest forecast is that Friday will bring rain in the morning and afternoon but could clear by evening.  Rather than leave everyone in "limbo" regarding whether graduation will be indoors or outside, I will share the following with you.

The graduation will take place Friday, at 6:30 P.M. on the football field. A large tent (80 feet by 100 feet) will be set up to protect the dais, the participants and the audience. It is estimated that approximately 1200 people can fit under the tent. By erecting the tent, it will allow about 500 more friends and family members to witness the ceremony than if we were to hold it in the auditorium.

The greatest risk anyone runs of getting rained on will be the faculty and graduates themselvesas they march from the school to the field. Should it rain and you wish to march with an umbrella until we reach the tent, please feel free to do so. Once under the tent, the umbrellas can be folded and placed under your seats.

A decision will be made on Friday as to whether you will receive your actual diploma outside or inside.

Handicap parking:   is available in the lot attached to the bus garage near the entrance to the football field.

The important thing is this:  You Are Graduating!

Sincerely,

Charlie Macunas
