The mission of Haddam-Killingworth High School is to provide a
personalized and collective experience through which students
are challenged to develop the knowledge, skills, and work
ethic to contribute to a global society.

2009 SHORELINE'S GOT TALENT Open High School Student
AUDITIONS Thursday, November 19th,

November 24th 2:30 Westbrook High School Mcveagh
Road Westbrook Connecticut, 2:30pm Auditions are
open to High School Students who attend the following high
schools: Westbrook, Morgan, Daniel Hand, Guilford, Haddam
Killingworth, Coginchaug, Lyme Old Lyme, Valley Regional,
Middletown, Xavier and Mercy. This years
Shoreline's Got Talent competition to benefit Crohn's and
Colitis Foundation of America.1st Place Prize is a $1000
Scholarship provided by Lenny and Joe's Fish
Tale. We are looking for talented students for
the 1st Shoreline's Got Talent competition. Whether talented
in singing, dancing, playing an instrument, comedy, or
anything else, every talented person is welcome. On December
23rd, the finalist that are chosen will compete on the HKTV
holiday show where viewers will vote for who they believe is
most talented. Each vote is one dollar donated to the
cause. The

Looking for individuals who exemplify fun, talent, and a
desire to help others. Students will be asked to perform a
short presentation of their talent. Please contact: Marcy

2. Project
Graduation News:
Wrapping Paper Orders will be delivered to
the HS on Weds., Nov. 4th. and then distributed to each
student's homeroom. Please remember to verify your order
and let us know if there are any concerns as soon as
possible.
The Fundraising Committee will
continue with the recycling fundraiser so look for the
"green" bins in all of RSD 17 schools as well as outside the
old MS gym, Higganum Physical Therapy, Town Hall and
Brainerd Library in Haddam, Town Hall, Library and Transfer
Station in Killingworth. Please consider donating
used cell phones, ink jet cartridges, digital cameras,
iPods, etc.(No accessories such as chargers,
please) Any questions, feel free to contact Kathy

be added to the Project Graduation link on the district web
site.
Thank You.
All parents/guardians are welcome to attend
the next meeting, Tues., Nov.10th, 7pm in the lower media
center. We still need volunteers to decorate, chaperone,
and many other small tasks. Join the fun!!

Costa Rica in April
2010.
This exciting trip will bring students on a
10 day tour into several regions of the country. Excursions
will include a visit to a local school, kayaking, and to a
variety of nature preserves. The group will leave their mark
by planting trees in the Santa Elena Cloud Forest. If your
son/daughter is interested in traveling to Costa Rica during
April vacation please him/her contact Mrs. Porter or Mrs.
Grimaldi. The first informational meeting will be held
on Tuesday, November 17th in the guidance office during
lunch/activity period. A parent meeting will be held in
early
December.
