Cool School ---
Haddam-Killingworth
HK was featured as this
week's "Cool School" on Channel 3. To access a few clips from
the event you can go to WFSB.com and click on the appropriate
link. The students did an outstanding job of showing the
rest of the viewing area just how much spirit, energy, and
enthusiasm they have here at HK There are so many
people to thank for making this such a
success:
* the students-for showing their true
colors
* our custodial staff and Mr. Jim Kane for setting up the
field house and necessary TV
equipment
* our cafeteria staff who arrived around 3:00 a.m. to make
sure all would be
fed
* our staff for coming in and supporting our students and our
school
** a special thanks to the parents for making the early
morning sacrifice and making it possible for our students to
enjoy this success Unfortunately some things that
were in the original plans to televise did not make it due to
the stormy conditions. A more than usual amount of the
station's time was devoted to tracking the stormy conditions
and informing the viewing audience of roads conditions and
accidents. In fact, at one point, Mike Hydeck informed me that
we might not to able to continue going live because of
lightning here at HK. The fear was that they would have
to lower the antennas on the TV trucks. Thankfully, it never
got to that point. I extend my apologies to those few
who did not receive the air time. HK is a "Cool
School." You help make it so. Thank you all for allowing
us to show some of the finer sides of our high
school. Charlie
