Internet Safety
Presentation Scheduled for May 5th
The Connecticut Department of
Public Safety, in conjunction with the US Attorney's Office,
The FBI, and Local Enforcement throughout the state of
Connecticut were awarded grant funds to create an Internet
Safety/Predator awareness program that would be delivered by
students, to students. Working with project LEARN and the
Connecticut State Police, two HKHS students, Meryl Gersz, and
Jared Benton-Smith, have developed a top notch presentation
they have previously delivered to students in area
schools.
On Wednesday, May 5, Meryl and Jared will
make their presentation to the freshmen and sophomore classes
of HK during Advisory period. The program will begin at 8:50
in the auditorium and run for approximately an hour.
I would like to extend an invitation to HK
parents to join us for this very informative and fact based
program which serves to alert the audience to the "real"
dangers associated with internet use.
Keeping children safe is our number one
priority.
Sincerely,
Charlie |
