1. Open House at the high school will take place this Thursday, September 11th, at 7:00.
Please plan on convening in the auditorium prior to visiting classrooms.  The evening is an opportunity to meet your child's teachers and sign up for parent conferences which will occur on October 14th and 15th.

2. Seniors will be reminded not to lend their parking tags to other students. The only students driving to school should be those who have registered their vehicles with the office and have received a designated parking space and mirror tag.

3.HK high school students will be participating in Haddam's first ever farmers market. The organization Youth-in-Action will be volunteering by doing face painting and assisting customers. The event will take place on Friday, September 12, 2008, from 3:00 to 6:00, on the Higganum Green at the corner of Routes 81 and 154. Locally grown produce and locally made products will be available for sale. Local community groups will be on hand with educational booths with displays on the history of farming in Haddam as well as with Master Gardeners to answer your gardening questions. Please come out see our students and support our community.

4. MTV is coming back to HKHS for a casting call for a new show entitled:  Stylist vs. Stylist.  They will conduct the open casting call on Wednesday in the auditorium from 2:15-4:15.  The program is looking for two candidates who would like to be made over by two New York stylists. Sign-ups are in the high school office.

5.  Teacher web pages will be up and running soon. We are working on a uniform template for all teachers to use which will facilitate use for both students and parents.

sincerely,

Charlie Macunas
